Echeveria subsessilis, also known as Echeveria 'Morning Beauty', is a species from Mexico. This plant consists of a very powdery leaf formation to create the most spectacular leaf formation. It has a blue leaf but will show as white due to the excess farina. This succulent type is a unique one that blooms in the spring. When it blooms, you will enjoy yellow-orange flowers. Echeveria Subsessilis is a gorgeous succulent with rosettes up to 6 inches (15 cm) in diameter, Bluish green leaves form beautiful rosettes with a tinge of pink along the leaf margins. A thick farina coating on the leaves give the plant a soft powdery look and allows the plant to tolerate full sun.
Sedum don't require a lot of water and will develop their best colors if they get at least 6 hours of sunlight per day.
When grown outside it likes full sun or afternoon shade, when grown inside it needs bright light and some direct sun.
Like other echeveria and sedum plants, the Jet Beads succulent is easily propagated. This can be done through the removal of offsets produced by the parent plant, as well as by rooting leaves. Propagating succulent plants is not only fun, but a great way to plant new containers at little to no cost.
As with many succulent plants, especially in the echeveria family, this sedeveria requires periods of warm weather to thrive. Due to their intolerance for cold, gardeners without frost-free growing conditions should move plants indoors during winter; the Jet Beads plant cannot tolerate temperatures below 25 F. (-4 C.).
Succulents and cacti thrive in well draining, porous soils. Gravel or expanded shale can be added to the bottom of the container to help increase drainage. Never let the container sit in a saucer of water. If your container does not have a drainage hole, you will need to water less.
