Drought Tolerance/Watering: Newly planted trees should be watered two-three times per week during droughts, water sparlingly during winter. Soil & Site Requirements: Well-drained, sandy loam soils are preferred, with compost and organic mulch will lead to more success with the peach tree.
Trees must therefore be pruned annually to enhance tree growth, reduce fruit thinning costs, and adjust crop load for the following season.
This peach tree variety does best with rich-loamy, slightly acidic, well-draining soil, with an estimated chill hours of 150, below 45°F.
Florida Prince Peach are small, fast growing and hardy trees that love full sun exposure. They are also an attractive tree for a variety of landscapes in Houston. Dark green leaves and pink to lavender flowers appearing in early spring adding a nice splash of color.
