Philodendron pastazanum is a very rare and extremely beautiful heartshaped Philodendron. This plant is a crawler meaning that the main stem or rhizome is growing vertically and not horizontally. The petioles are growing vertically from the stem and carry the leaves.
These plants require medium to bright indirect light. If acclimated to it they can take a few hours of direct sunlight in the morning.
To replenish this plant's nutrients, repot your Philodendron Pastazanum after it doubles in size or once a year—whichever comes first.
Cutting back philodendron plants is beneficial if the plant is taking up too much space in the room, or if the plant looks long and leggy. This type of pruning is best done in spring or fall. You can safely give your philodendron a light trim any time of year to remove yellowing leaves and trim spindly growth.
An ideal temperature range for Philodendron pastazanum care is 45°F to 95°F (7°C – 35°C). Night temperatures should be between 60°F to 70°F (16°C – 21°C).
