Compact Dragon Tree. 5ft Tall. The Dracaena Compacta are striking evergreen trees orignating in South East Asia and grown in the UK as a houseplant. Short dark green lance shaped leaves, 2-4 inches long are arranged in a compact rosette formation and grow off thick stems. This stylish plant is perfect for modern houses, offices or appartments especially where space may be limited. Easy to care for, these plants bring a piece of the jungle indoors and help with air purification. May be placed outside during summer.
As an indoor specimen, they also will not require a lot of water. A deep watering once a week should be adequate, less often during winter.
Choose a brightly lit place indoors, or semi-shade outdoors. They can be grown in full sun but will look worn out if they receive too much direct sun.
Regular fertilizing with products such as Troforte and Organic Link will produce lush, glossy growth.
Pruning is seldom required for this plant. However, it may eventually grow quite tall and lanky. Plants can be pruned back hard to encourage more growth from down low, developing into a more compact and filled-out specimen
