How to Care for the Plant
Water
Water occasionally when the top layer of the soil gets dry. This plant is drought-resistant.
Pruning
You can prune the stems back when you need it, preferably in winter or early spring before new growth appears. In spring, you can prune it to any dimension to keep the growth compact.
Fertilizer
You can feed this plant with an all-purpose fertilizer in spring before new growth starts.
Sunlight
Azure Bush Germander loves 6-8 hours of bright full sun.
Soil
Azure Bush Germander is not fussy about soil and can grow well in native soils loosened for gardening. Well-draining and rocky soils are best.
Propagation
You can propagate this plant by softwood cuttings. Softwood branches snap when you bend them, while greenwood bends without snapping, and wood does not bend. Take a softwood cutting with 2-3 leaves but without buds or blossoms. Cut about an inch (2.5 cm) below the bottom leaf, and then cut off the bottom leaf. This way, you will keep the leaf node from which the roots will grow. Apply the rooting hormone to the leaf, and place the cutting into moist potting soil. Then, place the cutting in a warm spot with indirect light. Keep the soil moist (but not soggy) for around a month, and tug the cutting gently to test if the roots are there. Once it is rooted, keep the plant until it’s large enough to transplan
Temperature
This plant is both frost-tolerant and drought-resistant. The plant grows perfectly well in hot and dry climates but can survive cold winters as well.
Container
This bush is usually planted outdoors. If you decide to keep it in the container, choose one with good drainage.
