What is the plant

Their most specific structure is the size of their leaves. They have large-sized, lush, dark green leaves. The stem is also covered with the same deep green colored layer. Because of this profound green foliage, it overall appears as a deep-green plant with only the leaves occasionally spotted with golden color. Philodendron Golden Dragon is evergreen, and its broad green leaves beautifully adorn the indoors in all the seasons. Their leaves stay fresh and shiny regardless of the weather, and hence the plant lovers always long to grow them indoors and use it as a display. Philodendron Golden Dragons are small to medium-sized. They are usually 6, 8, or 12 inches long initially. However, with proper care, they may grow up to 20-25 inches. Golden Dragon philodendrons are usually not tolerant to sudden temperature changes, and the warmth needs to be kept in a moderate range. Exposure to the temperature out of the optimum scale might kill the plant. Philodendron Golden Dragon is not a flowery plant. However, its glossy leaf structure is its distinct and most beautiful feature.

Philodendron's are easy to grow plants that perform best when grown in a well draining potting mix like our aroid potting mix. Water your Philodendron Golden Dragon when the top 3cm of soil are dry and group with other plants to raise the humidity around it.

Care must be taken that the dried up dead leaves should be cut from their particular branches without damaging the stem or branches of other leaves. Cutting down of the branches of fresh leaves will dry up the leaves too and stunt the growth of fresh new growth.

  • Fertilizer

The fertilizer must be given to the plant thrice annually, and the general-purpose fertilizer works well in this regard. It might be fed with balanced liquid foliage houseplant fertilizer that contains macro-nutrients. Fertilizer must be used 6 inches away from the base. If not done right, the plant grows very slowly, and it might not even grow as tall as it should. Low quality and cheap fertilizers must not be used for these plants as the heavy salts in such fertilizers will damage the roots, and it will ultimately lead to the death of the plant.
