How to Care for the Plant
Water
tβs just important to water it occasionally, hand-weed around the plant when needed and use a light layer of mulch to prevent weeds.
Pruning
Continue to water regularly until the plant is established, usually around 12 weeks. Hard prune after flowering to keep it dense and flowery. Feed with a slow release native fertiliser during spring.
Fertilizer
A handful of slow release fertiliser in spring will ensure good growth
Sunlight
Both cuttings and divisions should be grown in a relatively light soil mix; to give better water and air flow and stop any rotting from occurring.
Soil
Although Goodenia hederacea can grow in most soils, moist well-drained soils are preferable. It can grow in heavy shade or full sun. Flowering occurs in spring and summer; and fruiting time is in autumn.
Temperature
Will require water over long dry periods. Lower Temperatures: Temperatures as low as -7Β°C once established for short periods, will be prone to frost damage on leaves. Best planted in protected areas. Upper Temperatures: Temperatures to the Low 40'sΒ°C for short periods over the summer months.
Container
Uses include banks, retaining walls, ground covering and container planting for patios and courtyards.
