The whitish flowers are 5 mm in size and bell-shaped, 5 petals 1 mm long, and 10 stamens. Blooms from July to October. Viviparia is characteristic of almond-shaped fruits. The porous cork-like pericarp provides buoyancy to the fruit, which promotes water dispersal.
