The Crispy Wave Fern is a cultivar of the popular houseplant species Asplenium nidus. A beautifully bright green fern with characteristically sword-shaped, ruffled leaves give it the common name âCrispy Waveâ. Or it also goes by âBirdâs Nest Fernâ for the way the leaves radiate outward, leaving a leafy basin in the centre.Despite the fact that Asplenium nidus can grow fairly large, itâs actually an effective epiphyte. In its native South East Asian countries, youâll often find it naturally growing in the forked branches of trees. Fun fact, the Crispy Wave Plant was rated highly by NASA for its air purification qualities â making it a very useful terrarium plant indeed.

How to Care for the Plant
Water
Tips for watering your ferns avoid watering from above, which can cause the moisture to splash onto the leaves of your ferns. instead, aim the water you give your ferns at the soil above their roots. it will trickle down into the root zone, where your ferns can absorb it and put it to use.
Pruning
Get rid of damaged leaves and stems. This is important because damaged leaves and stems can actually be an energy drain on your plant. By removing those dead parts, you're taking some of that work off your plantâs plate and allowing it to divert its energy into healthy leaves and new growth!
Fertilizer
An organic, balanced, liquid fertilizer once a month during growth period is recommended.
Sunlight
Part-shade/Semi-shade location.
Soil
Use a well-draining indoor potting mix with perlite to help with drainage.
Temperature
Cool to average household temperatures between 16-21°C. Keep away from draughts.
Container
Ceramic pots are the most popular type of containers for houseplants today. You'll find them in all kinds of styles, colors, and sizes. At one time, the clay pot was the most common container for indoor plants. When choosing a pot, choose a pot that is 2.5-5 cm (1-2â) larger than the current size.
Additional
All ferns love moisture and should be given humid conditions. In living rooms and family rooms, stand their pots on trays of damp pebbles or clay granules. Ferns also love being misted at regular intervals with tepid, soft water unless the humidity of the whole room is kept high through the use of a humidifier.
