What is the plant

Giant timber bamboo, also known as Oldham's bamboo, is the most common giant tropical bamboo grown in the United States, according to the American Bamboo Society. This fast-growing, densely-clumping plant is well suited for ornamental screens, windbreaks or hedges or as part of an Asian-themed garden. Giant timber bamboo is relatively easy to grow in U.S. Department of Agriculture plant hardiness zones 8 to 10 but may require pruning to maintain a manageable height.
