Capsella bursa-pastoris is a slender, erect, annual to short-lived perennial plant, usually growing from 15 - 70cm tall.Often harvested from the wild for local use as a food and medicine, the plant is also extensively cultivated in some areas of the world as a cabbage-flavoured spring greens, in Japan it is one of the essential ingredients of a ceremonial rice and barley gruel that is eaten on January 7th

How to Care for the Plant
Water
Water regularly in the first weeks. Try to avoid watering on sunny afternoons to minimize the amount of moisture lost to evaporation. If your plant is in a pot, check the top soil in the pot either by looking at it or touching it with your finger. In any case, if it hasn’t rained in a month, water !

Signs of toxicity are sedation, pupil enlargement and breathing difficulty. Avoid if on treatments for high blood pressure. Avoid with thyroid gland disorders or heart disease. Possible addictive sedative effects with other depressants (e.g. Alcohol). Avoid during pregnancy
