Sooty Mold On Plants
This mold disease makes your foliage look like it was close to the open fire. That’s why a lot of people are confused by the disease’s look. This mold mostly grows in the secretion that is produced by insects like scale or aphids or in honeydew. If your plant has some issues with pests already, it is more likely that sooty mold will appear. Gardenias and roses are especially inclined to this disease. In general, this disease isn’t deadly, it won’t kill any plant, but the pests that produce secretion in which sooty mold grows can do it.
