whats wrong with my cactus?

I got this cactus like November 5th it looked fine and healthy but now it like rotted or something from the top first it turned purple and today the top fell off now I just repotted it today. Does anyone know what’s wrong with it?

@Plant-Lover11169556 Something you’re doing is not quite right. Either overwatering or inappropriate light or temperature. Could also be some harsh treatment, under/overfertilization… Something that has affected the plant’s health. You should look up the appropriate care and needs for your plants and then go through what you do to spot the core issue. It won’t grow back, should throw it away.
