Are you starting from the pit or the seed of a mango? You should clean it all off even the paper part of the seed comes off, wrap it in a very moist paper towel and then put that in a plastic bag. Check on it every few days to make sure the paper towel is still very moist. If it’s not take it out and wet the paper towel. Plant the seed within two to four weeks of growing a root. You could plant it as soon as it gets a root but you might want a more mature root before planting.
It’s best to grow it in a pot if you’re not in the ideal conditions for the mango tree not in the ground. Your pot needs great drainage as well. Your potting mix for in ground and in pot must be a well draining potting mix. If you need as more perlite to soil for either way to help with more drainage. They need 6-8 hours of FULL SUN! Water it once it twice a week depending on how how it gets there.
Fertilizer it once a week with something like miracle grow liquid fertilizer. You can also use worm castings in with the fertilizer. I hope this helps! If you have any more questions lmk!!!
Is that a mango tree?
