repot it into a slightly bigger pot then the one it’s in, check for root rot and cut off the black rotten roots, then water it and make sure the soil doesn’t stay dry very long between waterings
@onipebbles also, if root rot is the problem, do not over water. We water our similar plants about once per month if indoors. If outdoors, you may need to water more often, but always check the soil. Do not water unles the soil fells dry about an inch deep.
The soil is old and not loose enough. It is better to transplant the plant into new soil and water it more
