mealy bugs?
Are these mealy bugs? How do I save the plant? And how does this happen?

Yes those actually are mealy bugs but it’s fine you just have to get a cotton swab and rub it on rubbing alcohol and rub off all the mealy bugs until there’s none .if you don’t have that get an empty spray bottle put water in it and spray the plant until all the mealy bugs are gone this happened because the plant was infested !hope this helps

That is mealybugs so you need to use organic pest spray everyday once and with in a week they should be gone but that is if you quarantine that plant from all the others
