Looks like it might be a watering problem. Try watering every day (if you’re not) and mist in the mornings. The split leaves just happen some times so I wouldn’t worry too much about those

Also, it just might not like being in front of the radiator? It likes heat but not direct hot.

 cut in the leaves appear /happen because of Winflow. It makes it easy for the plants to swing with the wind rather than break coz of the force of wind cuts help the breeze go through the leaves and that’s it. I have mine outdoors under shade. It is doing absolutely fine. I water my bird of paradise once in 15-20 days depending on the soil texture and mist my plant every third 3-4 day
