my biggest & smallest banana tree
Big daddy here has gotten a few compliments the last 2 weeks by passerby’s Who have seen how big it’s gotten since I planted it. My 1st experience with any banana plant & I have to say it’s been awesome so far. This little sprout will be the second one off of the biggest plant. When I got it, it was barely 2 foot tall. & has grown 7-8 feet since I put it in the ground this summer. To say the least, I am certainly not looking forward to fall and winter. Freeze will kill it to the ground if I don’t do some major winterizing. Or dig it up & put it somewhere 🤦🏻♂️ so I want to at least dig up the baby & put it in a pot, but I don’t want to damage the big ones root system 🤷🏻♂️ idk

Have you tried growing any from seeds? 
Looks like he has a brilliant plant dad! I’ve had the same problem recently, I had to separate mint and basil because it grew a lot from roots more than the plant. So as I pulled out the root I did nip one off. But it resolve quickly with it rooted in water for a couple of days. Back in the new pot today 😊♥️
