Summer Heat
High 90’s and low 100’s degree weather here! My babies seem to be okay (they were a bit droopy a bit ago but have seemed to perk up) I mist them often and make sure to not expose them to too much direct sunlight! Hope yall are staying cool!

My friend got me a Venus flytrap!
This is my second Venus fly trap I own and my friend bought the Venus fly trap from Trader Joe’s , I will pair it with my other Venus fly trap I have outside that’s already about 10 months old almost a year old, and I can’t wait! Don’t worry I’ll change the soil soon with the carnivorous soil that I already have to pair it with my other Venus fly trap which has wasps around it probably around night I’ll go change it 😅

Find weed/morning glory. Being poisonous all of it how does one get poisoned just by touching? And how do you get rid of them and kill it because it’s everywhere and isn’t this just a weed?

I am winging it!
I’m usually terrible with plants. This guy was forced onto me after my grandmothers funeral. 4 months in and he’s thriving!! Water 2-3x a week, plant food every 2-3 weeks. Indirect sunlight most days. Am I doing this right or am I just lucky?

Are my stems bending due to stress?
I bought this Mickey Mouse alocasia about a week ago and it is now bending at the stems. It’s inside with partial sun from two windows that are south west facing. I water it once a week, mist it daily bc I don’t have a humidifier currently, and I never repotted it or fertilized it when I got it home due to extreme stress. This plant was living in a nursery outside but under shade. I wonder if it’s occurring due to extreme shift in temperature and humidity. The roots look phenomenal. Suggestions or just wait it out another month?

I’m a beginner plant mom I started a few months ago first it was my top monstera top first, then my snake to bottom left, my pothos bottom right and my prayer plant in the middle and then my money trees as my last ones. Been having a hard time keeping them alive in this hot weather and not sure who needs more light and water then the rest. I need help and suggestions would be great. DIY pressed flower petal coasters
I used pressed petals from my morning glories this year….the purple one was damaged 😞. Painted a few this layers of Mod podge to preseve. May try some acrylic pieces next.

This has us watering so infrequently (once every two-3 weeks) it was dying. It was doubled over and the leaves were turning purple and spotted. Plant in said it was a disease at one point and over watering at another point and then had me watering only once a month. I took matters into my own hands earlier this week and started watering it like I felt which was every few days and now she’s back and flowering. Theres still a little purple left, but over all doing whoah better from literally doing the opposite of what the PlantIn AI suggested. 🤷🏻♀️

answering deck plant questions i got
So the ones I put outside I never start as seed normally I get the from a plant nurseries where they aren’t adults yet but baby sprouts then I get a pot that’s deep with drainage and put rocks in the the pot drainage and make sure they are in the sun now for pests I wanted something that wasn’t harsh cause my dog walks in my garden so I went with what’s in the 2 picture it got rid of a spider mite infestation and nat one, and a water schedule is a good idea but it will very on the kind of plant most of my peppers need to be watered twice a week but I have one that’s from a rainforest area and want to be watered every other day I also recommend for peppers adding a cover over the soil to help keep soil wet ish like straw or mulch but don’t cover the roots I also have done tomatoes i recommend if you do them do they cherry kind since they produce more but unlike the peppers which you bring in for winter since they are still alive for next summer the tomatoes are dead and you will have to by them again. Hope this helps

I had a small rhizome of licorice fern in a different log and some animal literally kicked it out of the log one night. Put it on this log and added a ton of moss so it can have a perfect home now and can move whenever needed. 🤣

when I was a kid in south georgia...
We called this spindly tree a mimosa tree. The limbs could hold me as a boy and I would climb it for the fragrant flowers. The leaves were like a praying hands plant - you’d touch the bifold leaves and they would fold closed, like a stem of praying hands.
