Part of my cactus has turned black ;(
If anyone knows the cause and how to treat this issue, please let me know — part of this cactus (I believe it’s an Espostoa lanata, though I’m not entirely sure) has turned black. I water it about once a month and keep it in a sunny spot. I noticed that a part of the back had turned black, and it’s been about three months since I found it. It doesn’t seem to have spread since then. Could it be due to overwatering or perhaps excessive dryness? (I live in Texas.) Will it not heal naturally anymore? ;)

Do you rotate it so the backside receives sunlight also?
