is this a symptom of root rot? if yes, what do I do?
Help! Just rescued this guy from the nursery 3 days ago- terrible condition. I’m trying to nurse him back to health, but I’ve owned plants for less than a month, and am coming up empty. He’s been reported twice this week- once for a better pot and once to treat mealybugs- so I don’t want to stress him out more. That said, I don’t want to let a disease spread. What should I do? Thanks!

This plant appears to be in poor condition, as it is wilting and has yellow leaves. The soil around the plant appears dry and hard, indicating a lack of moisture. One possible issue could be a lack of watering or inadequate soil moisture. To fix this, make sure to water the plant regularly, providing enough moisture to keep the soil consistently damp but not waterlogged. Additionally, the plant may need more sunlight, so make sure it is getting enough direct sunlight each day. Finally, the plant may have a pest or disease problem, which can be identified by inspecting the leaves and stems for signs of insect damage or fungal growth. If any issues are found, consider using organic methods to address them, such as neem oil or botanical insecticides.
I’m no expert but just from looking at the soil in the pictures. I don’t think it’s even possible for that plant to have root rot it looks extremely dry to me. i’m not saying drown it. I’m saying water it thoroughly and give it some bright indirect light for some growth & strength to fight off the baddies
Sad 😔 keep him away from your other plants until you get the bugs gone 🪲
